The Centennial Banyan Tree, the Oriental Artistic Conception
Longyan, Fujian Province

Originating from Longyan, with cultural integration, in the garden world of Manyun, there is an exclusive Tree of Life - the centennial banyan tree, leaving the marks of the long river of time. It not only represents the eventful past but also symbolizes the endless future era.

Build a residence for the soul, and create a world where you and I can return to the integration with nature. The symbiotic relationship with ancient trees, the lush natural experience, the profound natural heritage, and the mutual attraction and penetration between the site and its surroundings. A new definition of ideal quality life, a benchmark experience of future living landscapes.

The main entrance adopts a two-stage gatehouse structure. The first-stage gatehouse, combined with the landscape walls on both sides, is placed in an open posture to enhance the momentum and visibility of the main entrance. The central roundabout features a high-quality mirror-like cascading water feature paired with an iconic landscape wall, recreating the leisurely southern scenery in a framed view; dotted with pine trees whose branches extend like welcoming gestures, the mottled light and shadow behind them hides a profound and endless mystery. Those who wish to explore its depths may as well "knock on the mountain" and enter, allowing the entrance courtyard to slowly unfold before the residents.

The beauty of Chinese gardens lies in their artistic conception, in imitating nature, creating changing scenery with every step, and in the alternation of deep seclusion and sudden openness, as well as the interplay of reality and illusion. The charm of courtyard scenery comes from strolling along the surrounding corridors—with the aid of screens, grilles, frames, and other structures, every corner visited reveals a distinct landscape.

The promenades in Lingnan region ensure rain-free homecoming and provide shade. Through multiple forms such as lattice windows, grilles and frames, the promenades extend and ventilate the limited space, endowing it with vitality.

The meandering trails extend the time and space of garden exploration—each turn reveals the essence of garden craftsmanship. A courtyard is a comprehensive art with limited area, aiming to embody the natural imagery of mountains and forests in a confined space. Designers seek infinity within constraints through the undulating and looping garden paths.

Corridors are an indispensable element in Chinese gardens and a private landscape enjoyed by royal families and prominent clans. From function to aesthetics, from residence to art, covered walkways string together the elegance rooted in the Chinese soul. Integrating humanistic rituals with living concepts, the layered etiquette and landscapes reshape the demeanor and realm of traditional Chinese family life. With a thousand years of cultural heritage, they tell tales of oriental elegance and charm. In a corner of the city, the essence of Chinese gardens is recreated. The twisting trails and ancient pavilions, every brick and tile, reveal craftsmen’s exquisite skills and pursuit of aesthetic perfection. In the distance, cascading waters shrouded in mist resemble a flowing ink wash painting, leaving one lost in its beauty.

Landscape-architecture integration means landscape is no longer an end discipline, but rather the landscape circulation dominates architectural interior design.. Ancient Tree Protection Policy: The protection scope covers 5 meters beyond the vertical projection of ancient trees. Excavation and concrete structures are prohibited, and the pavement must be permeable or wood-textured. Spatial Utilization: Landscape design introduces soil backfilling to raise the terrain around banyan trees. Landscape platform foundations are built on the newly backfilled soil, avoiding damage to tree roots while creating landscape spaces and rationally utilizing existing advantageous resources.
